Singapore - Apolitical Nation

Singaporean are renowned as a nation marked indifferent to politics where our citizens are well regarded as pragmatic and rationale, focusing on driving towards the traditional 5Cs of success cash, car, credit card, condominium, and country club or the new 5 Cs of happiness below

Most young Singaporeans - those under 30 years of age

Show scant interest in becoming politicians, or involving themselves in the gritty affairs of daily governance. In a survey shown, 9 in 10 Singaporeans would never consider entering politics, nor do we care much about what is right wing or left wing. It’s just not in our blood, we got better things to focus on such as getting our next promotion, securing our part-time degree or following our beloved BPL league and fan clubs. Politics is just too much hard work and too demanding commitment and if opinion polls are to be believed, it does

Too much Noise and Too little substance.

Another key factor is the quality of the candidates field in each elections, other than WP which have consistently been in the news - both good and bad news, the rest of the political parties are like bears coming out from hibernation once every 4 years when its hunting (oops.. election ) seasons.  Whilst the quality of the candidates field are generally improving with each election, very little is known about the rest of the opposition parties, their manifesto, their party values and their history and their plan for Singapore.
